

I cannot get my Magix Homepage up in the Internet
Basic Configuration
Magix FTP Server : www.magix.com.sg
Webspace : 3MB
Common problems are :
- Unable to login
- Check Login ID
Click here to check the FTP password.
- Internet Connection
Make sure the Internet Connection is active. Try to perform PING to our DNS IP .
e.g. C:\>Ping 165.21.83.88 .
If you get timeout message , please refer to "I am not able to connect to Magix" section for troubleshooting .
- Use alternate FTP Client
Sometimes it is due to ftp client corrupted. Try to use other FTP Client to confirm.

- Get FTP Client
You can download the FTP clients ( freeware or shareware ) at WS_FTP , CuteFTP , CoffeeCup FTP or BulletProof FTP.
User's are advised to refer to the FTP client vendor for the support .
- Configure Magix FTP Connection
Create a new connection as follows :
Name : Magix
Host name/Address column : www.magix.com.sg
User ID column : userid
Password column : password
- Establish FTP Connection
Usually you can find button like "Connect" or "Go". Click on it to connect to the server.
- Perform File Transfer
After successfully login , you can start to transfer files . Select the files that need to upload and copy to the server folder ( root ) . You do not need to create a public_html folder.
- Disconnect
After you have performed the file transfer , you want to disconnect . Simply click on the "Disconnect" button to cancel the FTP connection.
- Homepage URL
After you have successfully uploaded your homepage files , you can browse it this URL http://www.magix.com.sg/users/userid/ .
- Webpage does not appear
- Default Filename
The default filenames for Homepage are default.htm , index.htm and index.html .
( default mean you do not need specify the filename when enter the URL address
e.g. http://www.magix.com.sg/users/userid/ no filename is specified )
- HTML Language error
We do not support any HTML script error.
- Filenames are case sensitive
We are suggesting you to use all lower case letter filename to prevent such problem. Try to avoid using spacing character for filename. You can use underscore "_" character to prevent it.
- Images do not show up on the Webpages

- Image files are not properly uploaded
Ensure that the FTP transfer is set to binary mode while uploading the file and completely transfered to the server.
- Image files are Corrupted
Use browser to open it to check that is it viewable.
- Form , ASP , Perl and CGI scripts are not working
- Above Scripts are not Supported
The Magix homepage does not support such scripts like asp , perl and CGI.
- Scripts Supported
the scripts supported are only DHTML , Java Applet and Javascripts .
*The word "supported" means run / execute and not the troubleshooting of the script error.
